We’ve got our hands on a Land Rover Discovery, and it’s going up against a Volkswagen Touareg! Both of these cars have been modded, although the types of mods they’ve had are vastly different. So let’s see what’s changed…Starting with the Discovery, it’s powered by a 3-litre turbo V6 diesel engine which has been tuned slightly, and as a result, it produces 306hp and 600Nm of torque. It comes packed with a load of off-road tech, including low-range driving modes and central locking diffs. However, it’s had a whole load of extras added, from a tent box to the roof coupled with a fridge in the boot! As a result this tips the scales at an amazing 3,400kg! Next up it’s the Touareg. It’s packing a tuned 5-litre V10 diesel under the bonnet which produces an almighty 352hp and 1000Nm! It’s also had a number of mods from a 50mm height lift through to the addition of huge off-road tyres, and it’s a whole lot lighter than the Disco, coming in at 2,500kg.
