Say hello to the all-new Peugeot 408!We’ve got our hands on Peugeot’s all-new half hatchback, half SUV, and we’re about to see if it can stand out in this oh-so-crowded car market. For starters, the 408 is clearly a looker. With loads of creases and sharp angular taillights, we’re getting some serious Urus vibes from the rear! The good looks continue up front too, with a cool grille design and Peugeot’s instantly recognisable fang daytime running lights. What’s more, the good looks continue once you step inside the cabin. There’s a cool dash design up top, and the seats aren’t only comfortable, but also come in an Alcantara-like material. The infotainment system is a real winner, too, with both the central screen and digital dials being highly customisable. It’s easy to choose an engine, as there are only three to choose from. The entry-level comes with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol that can deliver 130hp, and then there are two plug-in hybrids, with the range-topper being a 1.6-litre turbo petrol coupled with an electric motor which can deliver 225hp. It can also drive for up to 40 miles on electric power alone. All sounds pretty positive, right? Well, there’s one key sticking point… The price! The 408 starts at around £31,000, and the one we have our hands on here will set you back around £46,000! So is it worth it? You’ll need to stick with Mat to see for yourself!Chapters 00:00 Intro 00:34 Design 02:43 Interior 05:59 Back Seats 08:34 Boot 10:17 5 Annoying Things 12:11 5 Good Things 13:28 Engines 14:10 Town Driving 16:09 Motorway Driving 17:33 Country Road Driving 18:31 0-60mph 19:22 VerdictMat’s Peugeot 408 choice: A similar car with less road noise: VW Arteon Shooting Brake review: https://hiblog.tv/carwowCitroen C5 X review: Sell your car with carwow:
